Coding agents can inspect a project, edit files, and use development tools to carry out a task. Compare the environment in which they run and the permissions they receive, rather than judging them only by code completion. Test a complete task with requirements, existing tests, and a human review of the result. Local and cloud workflows may expose different tools and access controls. Consider how the agent reports unfinished work and hands changes back to a developer.
